This is a walking class of a different kind. If you love to walk, to be outside, and you want to improve your way of walking, then this is the right class for you. You will learn how to walk with more joy, awareness, and relaxation and at the same time you will develop your strength and health. These class sessions will help you to get a better feeling of how walking can also be a meditation. We will be together for an hour and a quarter and walk between 1.5 to 3 miles each day. Along our path we will have different kinds of exercises, for example: what walking pace feels comfortable; how easy it is to connect your pace with your breathing. We will also have times for just walking. We will walk many of the Paso Robles walking paths. You will learn and practice step by step a walking meditation. At the end of the session we will have a special, voluntary 8- to 10-mile walk. We offer Walking with Awareness classes in two formats: Group sessions and individual, one-on-one classes. They are described below. Group sessionsThe group session is eight classes long. It meets four weeks, twice each week for one and a quarter hours. We will have an optional longer 8- to 10-mile walk at the end of the session. We offer these sessions at this time:

Call Petra before you come to a class because we start several classes in different locations. One-on-one classesOur one-on-one classes are for those who would like individual and more private attention than is available in a group sessions. You can follow the same format as we use for the group sessions (8 classes) or you can set up a completely individual format taylored to your needs and desires.
